      He actually stayed calm.

I was skeptical — my dog won't even let me check his teeth usually. But this scaler was so gentle and quiet, he actually stayed calm. I saw tartar come off within minutes. Being able to do this at home without meds or stress is a game changer.

Saved me an expensive trip to the vet.

This was much easier to use than I expected. Aside from the cost, I don't like taking my dog for cleanings because they give them anesthesia, which I don't think is good on a regular basis. It worked quickly and was so gentle that my dog fell asleep while I was cleaning. I'd definitely recommend.

Start on the edge and it chips right off.

I rarely write reviews but had to share. My dog had horrible buildup and could knock you out with his breath. I've had this less than a week and I'm amazed. I work a couple minutes at a time on level 2 — start on the edge, and once the tartar chips off the rest comes easy. His teeth are gleaming.

Worked on both my big chewers.

I cleaned two of my dogs' teeth (mastiff and pitbull mix) and the hardest yellow and black plaque came off after a few minutes on each tooth. I'd clean for 10 seconds, give them a break, repeat. I got them used to it by touching the canine tooth with it switched off first, then gradually turned up the speed. Worked perfect.

Is it safe if I've never done this before?

Yes — that's what the contact sensor is for. The tip only vibrates against hard surfaces like tartar and stops against soft gums. Start on the lowest setting, use a light touch, and work one tooth at a time. Canivet cleans the visible tooth surface; it does not clean below the gumline, so it complements regular vet checkups rather than replacing them.

Will it hurt or scare my dog?

Most dogs tolerate it because there's almost no noise — 30dB versus 80dB+ for the equipment at a vet's office. Let your dog sniff it, then touch it to a canine tooth while it's switched off. Once they're relaxed, turn it on at Soft and work up. Go in short 10-second sessions with breaks.

How long until I see results?

Light staining often lifts in the first session. Thick, cemented-on calculus usually takes several short sessions across a few days — it chips away in layers. Best results come from 5–10 minutes a day rather than one long session.

Does it work on big dogs?

Yes. It's used on everything from Pomeranians to mastiffs. Larger dogs with heavy buildup will benefit from the Strong and Super Strong settings; small dogs are usually fine on Standard.

How do I charge and clean it?

Charge via the included Type-C cable — a full charge lasts around 60 days at 5–10 minutes daily. It's IPX7 waterproof, so you can rinse the whole device under running water after use. Wipe the tip dry before storing in the dust cover.
